Chillicothe PD investigating sexual misconduct & statutory rape

Chillicothe Police Department responded to possible allegations by a juvenile female of sexual misconduct and statutory rape that occurred at her residence.

Police Chief for the Chillicothe Police Department Jon Maples says that the Chillicothe School District contacted their school resource officer over the allegations on Tuesday.

"Chillicothe District Staff contacted our school resource officer in reference to a female coming to them with concerns about allegations of possible sexual misconduct or enticement of a minor at her home."

Maples says there is currently an ongoing investigation.

"We have applied for and been issued a search warrant.  We conducted that search warrant on the 13th, the evening of the 13th, and seized several items that helped our case.  And we're following the evidence."

Maples says his department is currently working with prosecutors and judges at the Livingston County Court House with a case review scheduled for today to further the investigation.
